Creating tools to treat neurocognitive disorders
The ThinkGut project aims to achieve four results. The first of these is to reach agreements between the three entities participating in the project (Enterosys, INSERM and IDIBGI) to be able to exploit the intellectual property generated.
The second result is the creation of a repository in which the data obtained and the cohorts compiled on microbiota-cognition interrelationships will be worked on jointly in the cross-border territory. The third result focuses on obtaining new biomarkers and models that can be used for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of neurocognitive disorders associated with aging and obesity. These biomarkers could be of value for future agreements with industries such as the pharmaceutical and food industries. Finally, the fourth expected result is the progress towards the consolidation of Enterosys in the design of therapies based on human microbiota models.
European Regional Development Fund
The ThinkGut project, co-financed at 65% by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the Interreg V-A Spain-France-Andorra Programme (POCTEFA 2014-2020), has a total budget of 1.3 million euros.
